As usual, my absence on this blog means I’ve been busy someplace else. While I’ve been getting feedback on the novel I finished a couple months back, and digesting it, I’ve been completing revisions for Menucha Publishing on the novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo. (I’ve also been brainstorming new titles — the working title was unpopular, to say the least.) G-d-willing, that book will be out later this year. And I also revised and created a new cover for my book, Mazal’s Luck Runs Out. I decided the old one wasn’t engaging enough, so I put a girl on the cover who could pass for Mazal looking right at the viewer. I think it makes a big difference. What do you think?
And, of course, there was Purim…and Pesach.
Basically, it’s been busy.
Anyway, I’ve got some goals for the next few months. I need to work on a couple articles I have due to editors soon, and I’ve got to work on my novel some more based on all those comments I got. I’ve also got another book idea, but it’s only in it’s earliest stages, so I’m afraid to talk about it too much. It would star a character I’ve written before. Readers have been clamoring for more stories about them for a long time.
Meanwhile, I’ve got a bar mitzvah to plan.
Have I mentioned that I’m busy?
Let me know what you’d like to accomplish before summer hits in the comments.
The new cover is a big improvement over the original one! Mazal tov (pun intended) on the new cover and on your NaNoWriteMo book.
I’m waiting for the new novel for adults…nu?
Over the remainder of the spring, I’d like to plan my next book, complete a good outline and beats for that book, and expand advertising/word-of-mouth for my first four books.
What’s this new novel? A historical fiction thriller for older kids (teen/YA) , set in Inquisition Spain.

The book for adults requires a lot of work…and I’ve got to carve the time out for it. And I’ve got some doubts. It’ll be a while before it sees the light of day.
It sounds like you’ve got a good plan for the new book! It’s exciting that you are writing a new genre for you!

Yes, it’s a bit of a stretch: no exploding helicopters, no supersonic trains, no foldable computers…
It’ll be fun to write, though!
